Pain: You should be under anesthesia for ureteroscopy, so you shouldn't feel anything during the procedure. Afterwards, you will likely have a ureteral stent in place to prevent spasm or swelling from obstructing the flow of urine down the ureter. The stent can cause discomfort or pain. Your urologist will likely give you medication for pain and possibly for bladder spasms.
