I would wait: In general, it is preferable to wait till after the first trimester before an emergency extraction . Depending on the severity of the tooth, it is best to weigh the benefit and risk associated with leaving an abcessing tooth in for the duration of your pregnancy vs having local anesthetic which is considered safe after your first trimester.

Can be done: All elective dental procedures should be postponed until after the birth of the child. Ideally, any mandatory dental treatment is best done during the second trimester. However, a consultation with your md should be done.
