Can anxiety attacks cause blackout?

Not usually: Although, during an anxiety attack, also known as panic attacks, one may feel like they will pass out. One may also feel like they are going crazy or losing their mind. Other symptoms of panic attacks are chest pain, palpitations and shortness of breath. There are excellent avaiable treatments. For my patients, i avoid prescribing medications called benzodiazapines such as valium and xanax (alprazolam).

Agree w Dr. Passer: Dissociation isn't a black out but may someone might perceive it this way. This could occur during a panic attack.
