No Good Options: Over-the-counter products, whitening rinses, whitening toothpastes, and home remedies are very unpredictable and don't work very well in many cases. Only products or procedures recommended by a dentist are safe, effective, and predictable. Plus, not everyone is a good candidate for bleaching, so you need to see a dentist beforehand anyway. Spend a little extra and get it done right.

Most home kits work: I've seen patients that have used the crest white strips and received good results. A custom made bleaching tray from your dentists is also very effective. The trick is to apply whatever bleaching solution consistently. I've seen results with home bleaching as good as the in-office bleaching so it can be effective.
