Non-invasive: Before proceeding to biopsy your doctor wants to know the consistency and general structure of the lymph node, whether it is cystic, etc. They are proceeding cautiously in a systematic progression of tests. Ultrasound is not invasive and can yield valuable info. Keep up with this good doctor. Also, why don't you ask them why they are doing this.
