Yes!: Antidepressant medications can be very helpful provided that the person actually has depression and not some other disorder. Remember some types of depression are caused by chemical imbalances and are responsive to medications.

Depression is a neurobiological disorder the best treatment for which includes ad's, psychological counseling, exercise, good diet and sleep. They're not mutually exclusive.
