A member asked:

Could it happen such that a carbamazepin be used along with an anti depressant to help treat depression?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

CBZ: Yes, like many other drugs classified as anticonvulsants, this medication is sometimes used to help control depressive syndromes, though they are sometimes more helpful with bipolar disease. Because anticonvulsants can be considered "depressive" also, they should be used with care, and supervised closely.
