Will i be able breast feed with hyperkeratosis?

Discuss with MD: Hyperkeratosis of the nipple and areola is a rare condition. Its characteristic properties are verrucous thickening and brownish discoloration of the nipples and areola. Usually seen in women in the second and third decade of life. The nipple is seldom affected alone.Lesions may become darker & more verrucous during pregnancy, making breast feeding impossible.

Yes: Just make sure you stock up on cocoa butter or lanolin for your nipples, although with the hyperkeratosis you may not have as much cracking as other women. Your hyperkeratosis will not affect your baby.
