Not age related: Palliative care means terminal care of a patient suffering from any disease. It includes pain management, preparing for end of life events, improve nutrition, and good nursing care, support system for families, etc.

Even for survivors: Since palliative care (pc) is not just care at the end-of-life, it can occur at any stage of an illness regardless of your age. Most of the largest PC teams are in the hospital. Pc is even recommended for cancer survivors (livestrong tier 1 level "must have" recommendation) due to ongoing pain, symptoms, psychosocial & spiritual suffering, including possible recurrence of cancer..
