Probably not: High-quality research on the effectiveness of weight-loss hypnosis is not readily available. It appears unlikely to help significantly--although as a focusing tool, self-hypnosis or meditation may allow one to slow down and make good choices for long-term weight loss. Being honest about your readiness for change and focusing on long-term goals and daily behavior changes will work. Stick to it!

HYPNOSIS: Losing weight with hypnosis seems to work best when the patient is ready to lose the weight.
