Get up/move around: Pain under the rib cage may be related to your diaphragm (the muscle that helps expand our lungs), or build up of gas in the intestines. Stretching, moving around, and taking deep breaths every 20-30 min may improve your situation by helping your diaphragm to move and gas to travel through your gut. If the problem is consistent and severe - i would get it checked out. Hope this helps!

Get up frequently: Long periods of sitting in the same posture are not good. If you must sit for a prolonged period (such as during a airline flight), make sure to get up and stretch your legs every 20-30 minutes. An alternative is to do isometric exercise while sitting- tense up and then relax the muscles in your thigh and calf - this you can do every 15 minutes.
