I think i may have slipped rib syndrome. i can feel something pointy right beneath the left-front side of my rib cage. i can move it with no pain but if i cough too hard or sit down for long periods of time it starts to hurt my upper abdomen and back?

You need to be examined by a doctor to find out exactly what you have and to provide treatment. You may need a radiologic study like x-ray or even CT or MRI scan to figure out what the problem is so proper treatment can be provided. So, see your doctor. Good luck!!

Have you had any rib cage trauma recently? Many clinicians don't believe there is such a thing as a slipped rib syndrome but imaging studies to look for rib cage pathology are indicated. If no rib cage abnormalities are found, intervertebral bulging disc in the midback pressing on a nerve root is a possibility in view of discomfort also felt in the back. A rash in that side of the chest?shingles
