Many causes: The 3 principal causes of your pain are: pleurisy, pericarditis and myofascial syndrome (chest wall, rib, nerve, and arthritis pain). A chest xray, echo, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, and physical examination can sort this out. The cornerstone of therapy is first an accurate diagnosis. Good luck!
