What do job shadowers do in a pediatric office?

5 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

Many options: They may follow the physician as he/she sees patients in the exam room (with permission of the patient). A shadower may work in the front office with phone calls, scheduling, filing, mail. In the back office opportunities to assist with what the nursing/med or physician assistants perform-weighing, measuring height, taking blood pressures and patient education.

Job shadow: Job shadowing depends on the office and depends on the shadow. Often the shadower follows around the doctor, nurse or other staff member to see how he/she spends the day. In a doctor's office there are health requirements and patient privacy concerns a well.
