What can i expect while pregnant and bipolar?

Treated or not: It depends on the type of bipolar and whether or not you continue with your treatment with medications. Generally things are harder mood wise in the first couple of trimesters than in the third trimester which tends to be a period of greater mood stability. Then after birth a number of hormonal shifts happen that are associated with a high rate of mania, depression and even psychosis.
