Soft heel cups: First, you need to reduce the pressure on your heels. You can buy thick viscoelastic heel cups(a very soft type of rubber) to cushion the pressure under your heel when walking. Stop walking barefoot on hard surfaces. Running shoes with air in the heels will help. Use ice on your heels and you can take antiinflamatories. Consult your podiatrist for further help.

Your pain is likely: From plantar fasciitis, with or without a heel spur. Pad rarely make much of a difference. Home treatment includes stretching exercises and icing after physical activity. Make sure your shoes are supportive and in good condition. Beyond that there's not much you can do on your own. It takes professional care.
