Some common problems: Include achilles tendonitis, a haglund's deformity, a posterior calcaneal spur/ bursitis. Goals should be to eliminate inflammation, take strain off the Achilles' tendon. This could be done with a heel lift or orthotic. Hot water soaks or ice can help. Topical or oral antiinflammatories can also be effective.
