It whitens teeth.: Whitening rinses contain a whitening agent (like hydrogen peroxide) similar to whitening toothpastes. However, they only whiten very, very slowly since the are normally in contact with the teeth for only a minute or two. Contrast this with whitening strips or trays which are usually kept in contact with the teeth for an hour or so at a time. Trays will work much better and faster than rinses.
