You Can, Usually: Listerine is a strong rinse, and it can cause a lot of soft tissue irritation in people who are sensitive. You should ask your dentist if there's any benefit to using any mouthwash before simply starting. White strips have no effect on the listerine, but they should obviously not be used at the exact same time. Don't rinse right after whitening. Wait a few hours, so your teeth don't stain.

Not effective: Don't waist your money on whitening mouth rinses. They are largely ineffective. White strips are somewhat effective, but the best tooth whitening is done by the dentist. The dentist can make custom whitening trays that hold the whitening gel on your teeth better and can be worn overnight.
