Discomfort: Since it is usually a surgical procedure ther will be some post op pain and swelling.

You are given: Anesthesia prior to removal. Hence, you won't feel any pain while the procedure is going on. Afterwards, there can be soreness or pain. Usually, ice will help prevent this. The doc will likely prescribe an antiinflammatory and a pain killer just in case you have discomfort. Post op pain though should be minimal if at all for this procedure.

Mild pain: One can have mild pain with exertion for a few days after surgery. Full range of motion, pain free usually takes one to two weeks after surgery.
