What happens to the virtual endoscopy camera; it defecated out or what?

Yes: Usually the camera passes out with the stool the day of the test. There are cases where patients have had strictures of the small intestine where the camera was caught. Often doctors will order a small bowel series prior to capsule to rule out these stricture. There is also a special capsule that can also be used to detect stricture that might prevent the camera from passing.
