It depends: It depends on how long and deep the wound is, what part of the body it is on (certain parts have better blood flow than others and heal faster), and if the wound is infected. If you were stuck by a needle, please see a doctor to protect against transmission of infections like HIV and hepatitis. If the item that punctured the skin was dirty, see a doctor, you may need a tetanus shot or antibiotic.

See below: Generally, skin injuries including lacerations, puncture wounds, scrapes start to heal and close within a few days but for the skin to be back to its complete and normal strength can take up to a year. Antibodies are used to fight infection and may be involve concurrently with the repair process but are not involved with the actual repair.
