4mo old baby have infected rash, already on antibiotics, but keeps scratching so skin takes longer to heal. what can i do to stop him scratching?

Itch-Scratch: If not seen by a doctor already, would do so. In the meantime, try a little otc Claritin or zyrtec syrup, based on his/her weight (i prefer zyrtec) once to twice daily to decrease itch. Also, mixing some Benadryl (diphenhydramine) cream with a hypoallergenic lotion and applying two to three times per day could help to moisturize the skin and decrease itch.

Also...: Old calomine lotion may help diminish the itching, in addition to dr mutnick's suggestions.
