Weeks of weakness: Valley fever is often mild and transient with symptoms very similar to routine viral upper respiratory tract infections or even pneumonia. Most cases probably don't even come to the doctor's attention. Symptoms of fatigue can last for weeks up to months.

Valley Fever: Coccidioidomycosis is a fungal infection found in desert soil. It may have no sx's or cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, fatigue, low fever, night sweats, headache, muscle/joint pain, rash, weight loss. It may take weeks to months (or longer for Disseminated Dz) symtpoms to resolve. Dx is via serologic tests for coccidioidomycosis or cultures.
