Severe signs : You should take him to the er now. Normally aldults does not get fever easily except he gets a systemic infection that needs immediate medical attention.

Not urgent: Valley fever is generally self limiting and not terribly urgent. My concern is that he might have something else. If you think he needs to be evaluated right away, take him to the emergency room. Otherwise get him to see a doctor as soon as possible.

Valley Fever: If he has difficulty breathing, his face or lips turn blue or he has new onset confusion - than ER visit will be needed. He could have Valley fever (coccidioidomycosis) or a different medical problem.
