A member asked:

What is the treatment for prolactinomas?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Treatment: Two possible treatments -- surgery or medication. Depending on size of adenoma, patient age, or the tumors effect on surrounding structures. Medication is usually the first-line treatment. Dostinex (cabergoline) is a very effective med which decreases prolactin production and usually shrinks tumor size over several years of therapy.
