I have an ear infection and can't hear out of one ear. what should i do?

Common for ear infct: During a middle ear infection the ear space fills with fluid and suppresses the hearing in the affected ear by ~ 40 decibells. This may continue for 3-6 weeks but gradually clears with treatment and hearing returns to baseline level. Have it checked if it doesn't improve.
