If an x-ray or ct scan shows a talus fracture that happened months ago, is surgery usually needed?

Talus fracture: As long as the bone is healed in a satisfactory position then u should not need surgery. Otherwise discuss with your doctor.

Maybe: It would depend on how the bone structure looks. Often immobilization with the use of a bone stimulator to help bone growth will do.
