A member asked:

Is it a problem if i get 2 different antibiotics at the same time for the same infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Often time, doctors and providers might know you have an infection (cough, fever, abnormal chest x-ray support a diagnosis of pneumonia), but we don't know what bug is causing it. Because some bugs / bacteria respond to certain antibiotics we might give more than one to attack the most common types of bugs.
