Not all: Not all wisdom teeth need to come out. If there is enough room in the jaws for these teeth to erupt normally than they do not need to come out. If there is not enough room for them to erupt , they can cause pressure on the remaining teeth causing them to crowd, they can also cause damage to the teeth in front due to presuure, also iiatncompletely erupted teeth can cause them to get infected.

They may not have to: Wisdom teeth may not have to come out if they are not disturbing the other natural teeth and are not causing pain. Some people have enough room for them to erupt, and others can keep them if there are no other problems. Ask your dentist to be sure!

Prevents surgery : Elderly, medically compromised patients who begin to have issues with wisdom teeth can face a life-threatening surgery if they haven't had them removed. Removing them at a younger age will allow for faster healing and prevent complications. Wisdom teeth are rarely useful in chewing food and are extremely difficult to clean.

Can affect your bite: Wisdom teeth can affect your bite by creating distortions, and/or can shift your existing teeth, thus creating malocclusion and teeth movement. If someone is going through orthodontic, it is highly advisable to get them out first. Also, wisdom teeth are not necessary for good mouth occlusion so sometimes they do more harm than good.

Variety of reasons: Most often it it because they can't erupt properly, many times they erupt partially causing food to get stuck under your gums, where they have not erupted causing an infection. Also this can make it hard to clean and many times they get cavities in them that are unrestorable or can cause damage to the teeth next to them. There is also a higher incidence of cysts around unerupted wisdom teeth.
