Tooth roots: Wisdom teeth can vary in their size, shape and number of roots. Some teeth may be very small but other can be gigantic. A good x-ray should tell your dentist the proper number. I have seen some teeth with one root (may or not be fused together) to one with more than 7 separate roots.
