Chemotherapy or ...: It depends on the type of leukemia. Some leukemias can be cured with chemotherapy.. Some types of leukemia can only be cured with a stem cell transplant.

Depends on type....: There are many types of leukemia and each have different treatment regimens. Age also plays a factor (adult vs. Pediatric treatment protocols). All is always treated with chemotherapy, and sometimes with radiation therapy and/or bone marrow transplant. AML is similar, but not with radiation. CML can be controlled with oral medication, but sometimes needs a bone marrow transplant.

Multiple ways: Leukemia, like any other type of cancer, can be cured in a variable proportion of cases. In many other cases where complete cure is not possible, long-time remission can be achieved. This is usually accomplished by using a combination of medications (chemotherapy). Many times, after chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant can provide the definitive cure.
