Yes: We have very good cure rates for children with all (acute lymphoblastic leukemia). AML (acute myelogenous leukemia) can also be cured, but it is more difficult. There are specific subtypes of each type of leukemia, and knowing this information can help with planning treatment and knowing prognosis.
