Some: Narcotics are painkillers while anesthesia (general) includes propofol, inhalation anesthetic , muscle relaxants, narcotics, versad etc.

Analgesia/Anesthesia: Narcotic drugs are classified as analgesics (pain medications). By themselves narcotics do not induce unconsciousness. Therefore, narcotics are used in conjunction with anesthesia gases to induce general anesthesia, which is a medically-induced coma or state of suspended animation.

Actions: Narcotics are given to reduce or control pain that a patient is experiencing, they do not reliably put you to sleep.. Anesthesia is designed to make the entire body insensate to pain by inducing a deep chemical sleep.
