Yes: The best tests for h pylori infection are the breath and the fecal testing. These are able to distinguish between active and past infections which the blood antibody testing is not.

Yes: "the sensitivity and specificity in untreated subjects are very high and range from 90 to 98% and from 92 to 100%, respectively" http://gut.bmj.com/content/45/suppl_1/I18.full but it sounds like it isn't a simple test kit.
