How painful is the knee reconstruction surgery ?

Depends: "knee reconstruction" can mean many different things. Different patients have different pain levels. After my acl reconstruction, i took advil (ibuprofen) and used ice for pain control and found the pain quite tolerable. Most patients use narcotics for post op pain management.

Variable: The amount of pain that one will experience will depend on a variety of factors such as the type of procedure performed, the patient's individual pain tolerance, and the patient's level of post-operative compliance. Following the procedure, your surgeon will usually prescribe a pain medication which will minimize your level of discomfort.

Depends: It depends on the amount and type of reconstruction that is needed, history of multiple surgeries on the knee, medical health of the patient, is it endoscopic vs an open procedure etc. Consult with your doctor.
