Can work well: Yes Duragesic patches can work well. It depends on what dosage you are prescribed. One problem with the patch is building up a tolerance to continuous 72 hour pain patch. Any narcotic can lead to respiratory depression, stop breathing which can lead to cardiac arrest. If you drink alcohol, take Valium or xanax, (alprazolam) muscle relaxants, antidepressants, amphetamines, can increase risk of respiratory arre.
