It can improve it: Currently a controversial subject in dental research the best asnwer i can give is flossing can keep gum tissue healthy, ie reduce inflamation. The body does not like chronic inflammation..An influence inheart disease and diabetes.

It Seems To Help: The exact cause-and-effect mechanism between excellent oral health & improved cardiovascular health is not yet know, but there is definitely a strong correlation. It's probably related to lower overall inflammation within the body in people with good gum health. Some studies suggest more than double the risk of fatal heart attack and stroke in people with unhealthy gums. So, don't risk it. Floss!
