Check-up and diet: Brushing and flossing are very important daily activities to do to maintain your oral health. You can also watch your diet, minimizing sugars and carbs, which sit on teeth and can be food for cavity for the bacteria. Going to your 6 month check-up is also very very important not only to clean your teeth professionally but also "catch" things early if there is issues.

Dentist & rinse: The most important new advancement in brushing is the oral b mechanical toothbrush. There have also been advancements in dental floss such as a product called "superfloss". A antiseptic mouth rinse is also a good thing. There are water picks and interdental brushes. But, there is no substitute for regular visits to the dentist.

Rinsing & prof care: Along with brushing 3x daily for 2 minutes each time and daily flossing, one should also include rinsing with an antiseptic mouth 2x daily for 30 seconds. Regular dental exams and cleanings are essential ( minimum twice yearly), along with a healthy diet and don't forget to brush your tongue as well! oral hygiene is serious business!

Routine check-ups: Regular dental check-ups are critical. Research indicates the best program is to go 4 times a year. This helps control the bacterial development.3 times is excellent.Unfortunately, old recommendations and the insurance benefits are built around 2 times/year.If you try 3 times, and pay for the 3rd yourself, you will be surprised. Also, ask to skip the doctors exam at the 3rd one if you want to save.
