Reasons for ERCP: Possibilities: jaundice with the suggestion of blockage in the bile system, many other sources of pancreatic or biliary disease - eg gallstones in duct, pancreatic cancer, chronic pancreatitis, pseudocyst formation, evaluation of the sphincter between intestine and bile or pancreaitc ducts... In general, this invasive test with real possible side-effects, should only be done for a sound reason.
