Ask Surgeon: Check with your surgeon. Much depends on the level and the rest of the system. What risk are you taking and will you be in pain or aggravate a painful situation. If given the go ahead to run, I would start out slow and short, and then add more distance and speed. One variable at a time. NOT longer faster together. Good Luck.

Absolutely: Many patients return to running after disc surgery, some even to the marathon distance. However, it is always prudent to consult with your physician before starting training.
