Why does my back spasm after discectomy?

May be normal: Back spasm may be occurring as your body heals from surgery, especially if it was within the past several months. If you still have a pinched nerve root, or if you have a new disk herniation, these might also cause pain and spasms. Your best bet is to talk to your surgeon.
