How can dupuytren's disease be prevented, and if not prevented, how is it treated?

Tx :Dupuytren's dis.: It cannot be prevented. Not all people with this condition require treatment. If the function of the hands and walking are affected, Collagenase injections into the affected area or aponeurotomy done in the office setting to break down the tissue help to manually bring the fingers back into the normal position. The tendons are not affected in this disease.

No prevention: It is hereditary and can't be prevented. Avoiding undue stress on the hand might help. There are 3 options for treatment of dupuytren's contracture: 1) fasciectomy 2) needle aponeurotomy 3) xiaflex the treatment chosen will depend on the experience of your hand surgeon and the location and severity of the cords. http://www.centraljerseyhand.com/dupuytrens-contracture-surgery.htm.
