No: Dupuytrens is an inherited disease of the palmar fascia of the hands and fingers. It leads to the development of contractile chords resulting in contracture at the mp, and pip joints. It is treated with surgery if the flexion at mp joint is > 20 degrees or with any involvement of the pip joints. Collagenase injections can be used for chords limited to the palm and mp joint in some patients.

Dupuytrens is a: common issue. Many present with just a nodule or a minor cord and this does not need treatment. Factors that do however lead to higher rate of progression include younger age at onset, presence of disease in feet( lederhose) and penis ( peyronies) and other sites such as knuckle pads. HOWEVER NO ONE CAN PREDICT with accuracy what will occur, not worth worrying

Yes: Make sure you seek treatment early if any contracture develops. NA and Xiaflex (collagenase clostridium histolyticum) are the best non-surgical treatments
