What are the normal ranges for blood on a dipstick urinalysis? should there be any blood at all?

Less than 3 red cell: Most people will accept a normal ua to show less than 3 rbcs per high power field on microscopy. Some studies state that greater thancutoff should be 5. Certainly, anything greater than 5 rbcs is not normal and needs an evaluation with a urologist.
