No: Pain relief medicine will not cause any problems with the tests done to look for a urinary tract infection. A urinalysis and urine culture won't be affected by pain medications.

Clarification: If you decide to take Pyridium (phenazopyridine) for UTI pain it cam affect the urine results but the urine culture can help detect the bacteria. Taking an anti inflammatory such as advil will not affect the results.
