If increasing pain: or fever, get seen soonest. If getting better, wait it out for another day. See your doctor or urgent care if getting worse.

Call now: Bactrim is an antibiotic, and while it does not directly relieve pain, the pain should resolve as Bactrim starts clearing the bacteria causing the UTI. Typically, you’ll notice a difference in pain and low-grade fever within 2 days. If not or if pain worsens or new symptoms appear by or after the 2-day mark, it’s best to let your doctor know so that s/he may reassess.
