Can i have a normal liver enzyme (e.g., alt) level and still have chronic hepatitis c?

Oh yes: Some patients with chronic hep c may have normal liver enzymes, or normal enzymes intermittently. Liver function tests (lfts) are not the marker of the disease, or success of treatment; viral load is. Inflammation, scarring is more closely related to viral load and immune response to it.
