Should i wait between a tummy tuck and breast surgery?

Not necessary: I would discuss the potential for performing the surgery simultaneously unless there is a compelling reason to stage the operations. This is commonly performed together and referred to as the "mommy makeover". Discuss this with your surgeon.

Not necessarily: These are common procedures that are commonly performed together safely. Depending upon your health and exactly which procedures will be performed that could even potentially be done as an outpatient together. Contact plastic surgeons who are certified by the american board of plastic surgery (www.Abplsurg.Org) in your area for a specific evaluation of your needs.

Not necessarily: They can be done together or apart depending on what you are looking for and your finances. There also may be health issues so you should talk with your plastic surgeon.

Sometimes: A tummy tuck changes the abdomen making it easier to see the potential utility of doing additional surgery. Doing it all at the same time doesn't give the patient that ability. It is also less strenuous on your body to recover from one operation at a time. This is debatable and the answer is often a matter of philosophy.

Very common: Patient safety is the most important consideration with these types of procedures. Patients often want many things done at once. It is very common and safe to perform breast surgery and abdominoplasty at the same time. However, each patient must be evaluated carefully by a board certified plastic surgeon and the risks fully explained.

Mommy makeover: If you are in good health these are commonly done. If you want to compare the procedures that are done with breast reconstruction for the diep flap then these surgeries are done in combination everyday. You should be able to have both done at the same time.

Not necessarily : Many times breast and tummy procedures can be combined depending on your health, weight and the complexity of each of the procedures. If you decide to separate into two stages i recommend my patients wait 2 months before the next procedure to allow the first one to be well healed. There is no consensus on this so tell your plastic surgeon about your concerns and see what s/he recommends.
