Usually not: In the distant past, thyroid hormone was used to 'shrink' nodules. More recent studies with ultrasound monitoring has shown that most nodules do not shrink with thyroid hormone treatment. Because thyroid cancer is the fastest increasing cancer in women, it is important to follow most thyroid nodules with ultrasound. With hashimoto's thyroiditis, there can be false or pseudonodules.

I'm just curious I had covid back in March. Within weeks I noticed mild dysphagia(feels like a piece of bread stuck one side) and a nodule on left side of neck/throat within last 4 days. Even with a fam history of thyroidism. Could covid be the cause?
Thyroid blood work is normal. Ultrasound showed nodules/cyst. Is it possible to shrink multiple tiny nodules on left side of thyroid ( less than 5mm) and one complex cyst(no vascularity)left side of thyroid about 5 mm exactly with medication?
Can you survive for a time without thyroid medication if you only have 25% of the left side of a thyroid left? Lost due to nodules and not cancer.
